Being an influencer and a role model go hand in hand because, in order to influence, you need to embody what you talk about or at least be taking steps toward being what you want, in order to be most effective. You can talk about something all day however stepping into the role and being that person is what others are really watching. Whether it’s your kids, colleagues, friends, etc, that are watching you, getting clear on what your path is as well as how you handle situations is very important.
For example, I’ve always wanted great health and have taken very focused and disciplined steps to achieve this and have taught it through my former fitness and nutrition businesses. After my divorce, I learned and developed tools to have more peace, joy, and success in the 4 key areas of life, and because of my transformation, I want to share with others. I believe that excellence in your area of expertise is key too (never settle) and always continue to educate yourself. Being a role model makes you a wonderful influencer to make a difference in someone’s life.
A lot of times you don’t realize how many people are actually watching you and what you do and say could make a lasting impression on somebody. Let’s be real, no one is perfect and we all mess up at times learning to “let go” of any negative emotions you may have is a big part of being a role model too. Do you get upset or frustrated often? Are you hurt easily? Do you feel jealous or feel like you’re not enough? Having the tools to deal with all these emotions are key.
Being a great role model requires purposeful awareness, focus, and action in these four key areas to be your best. Unfortunately, stuff can happen in your life to get you off track, like getting a divorce, losing a job, or any kind of relationship problems and it can leave your thinking and clarity clouded. As a mindset coach, I focus on what you need to clear your mind and put you on a path to success. I do this by keeping you accountable and giving you the tools necessary to find more peace, prosperity, and joy every single day. Everyone needs a cheerleader!
